"Scale The World" Sets Out To Give Hope
To An Overweight And Overstressed Planet

DALLAS, Tex., Dec. 23, 2005—A revolutionary program designed to give millions a 32-day series of free messages dealing with freedom from fear, fat and stress is coming to an inbox near you.

"Scale The World" is the brainchild of best-selling fitness author, fitness consultant and lifecoach Jon Benson. The birth of this desire to transform our emails into answers to some of the largest problems we face as a world came to Benson shortly after reviewing the Center For Disease Control's 2004 Census Report.

"We as a nation and a world need a massive reboot of our internal hard drives," say Benson from his home in Dallas, Texas. "To say we're a sick planet is really a massive understatement."

Conservative estimates released by numerous national organizations for health and disease put the growth rate of obesity in America at epidemic proportions. Currently one out of every three of our children born after the year 2000 will develop Type 2 Diabetes in his or her lifetime. Half of these will do so before reaching puberty. Type 2 Diabetes is directly linked to our diets and our lifestyle. Obesity will soon become the most preventable cause of death in America, with the world as a whole falling victim to this dilemma as early as 2010.

"The answer to this challenge is not a miracle drug. It's certainly not another 'diet', as we have over ten thousand books on that very subject alone. It's not working," says Benson. "The answer begins in the mind with the eradication of fear and an empowerment of truth and knowledge. The mind must change before the body has any hope of catching up. Almost every diet book approaches this in the most backward of ways, trying to force a dietary change or exercise programs before the mind is ready to accept the real reasons behind the problem.

"Without the truth behind the problem, a reality that we must and can deal with on a daily basis, we're just skipping from one fantasy diet or exercise system to another. We're hoping to land on the miracle plan that doesn't exist."

Benson is not alone is his assertions that our problem with obesity has as much to do with the fat between our ears as it does between our neck and toes, although he may be the most outspoken authority on the subject. His 48-week audio series called "M-Power" hammers this truth home every week to thousands of people all over the world—and the world appears to be listening.

"We see people who had given up all hope—people literally a hundred or more pounds overweight, afraid of leaving their homes—embracing life and empowerment as they're released from the body that's become their prison," echoes Janis Hauser, CPT, head trainer at M-Power. "The key is always the same—they don't just focus on working out or eating a certain way, but on a system of thought that drives them to action.

"It's almost fool-proof, but it's not your run-of-the-mill pat answer, that's for sure."

Benson decided that he would share 32 days of inspirational, strategy-based emails with as many people who would read and share them with others. The source for much of this information is M-Power, the company sponsoring the substantial costs behind "Scale The World."

"Our staff really pulled together to make this happen. Without this team standing behind the message and the hope for a leaner, wiser planet, there's no way I could have made this happen," said Benson. "There are email programs I know of that cost hundreds of dollars a year. They just send you quotes from other people. I don't know about you, but that isn't going to get me out the door and into the gym or remove the fear of living from my life. I decided I would do this for free and see what happens. While it was my idea, it was my team's execution."

When asked about the title of the program, Benson laughed and said, "Hey, we're not only a heavy planet, but also one whose justice system is working overtime. These diseases we see cropping up every other day is nature's way of saying 'enough already'. So, there's the scale of justice weighing in on the weight of the world.

"I thought it was rather appropriate."

So how does all of this work? Benson was a bit mysterious about the content, but for 32 days participants will receive emails that focus on a theme for the day. The premise is what Benson calls "The Four Ms": Mind, Meals, Muscle and Motion. The emphasis is on how to think, eat, and move to make positive, step-by-step changes in major areas of the reader's lifestyle. There isn't a 'diet' or a 'workout' that's provided. Vegans to meat-eaters, marathoners to couch potatoes—all are welcome and catered to. The objective is to teach what Benson calls "fearless living" in all matters related to health, empowerment, and lifestyle, and provide strategies which will allow participants to create a system that works for them as opposed to relying on an off-the-shelf program.

Given the fact that 95% of these off-the-shelf programs fail, Benson's idea is primed to make a major impact, as well as a sizeable dent in the multi billion-dollar diet industry. "Just walk into a health food store. There's some great stuff there, but also tons of snake oil. I think most people know it but they're desperate. We're a desperate nation, and that fosters a lot of wishful thinking and hoping for miracles. Real-world answers are what we need, and that's what I want to deliver. It may be a tad challenging, even controversial, but it's coming from a place of truth and experience."

"Each person will be able to take what they need and leave the rest. I won't be offended," says Benson, smiling again. "No one has all the answers, but I think most people will benefit massively just by the fact "Scale The World" teaches them how to ask better questions. Answers are the natural outcome."

"Scale The World" launches in January 2006 and is free to everyone. Email addresses are not collected on any referrals. Emails are sent willingly by the participant. It's up to the friend or family member referred to join or not.
